Heartsong

Tell me about the dream where we pull the bodies out of the lake
and dress them in warm clothes again.
How it was late, and no one could sleep, the horses running
until they forget that they are horses.
It's not like a tree where the roots have to end somewhere,
it's more like a song on a policeman's radio,
how we rolled up the carpet so we could dance, and the days
were bright red, and every time we kissed there was another apple
to slice into pieces.
Look at the light through the windowpane. That means it's noon, that means
we're inconsolable.
Tell me how all this, and love too, will ruin us.
These, our bodies, possessed by light.
Tell me we'll never get used to it.

I have been feeling so overwhelmed lately. With just life in general. In a weird funk I suppose.

On a much more positive note, I was recently contacted by a husband/wife wedding photographer team to second shoot/assist them. This is a HUGE opportunity for me and I am so flattered and so excited. We've really hit it off thus far and they are such a gorgeous, fun, laid back couple, I have no doubts we wont hit it off. I've been booking shoots as well, and its all just really exciting. This is something I've always wanted so to see it in its begining stages is so empowering and gives me so much hope! I feel really blessed and hope this truly is only the begining of a whole new chapter! I'm hoping that I can start booking regularly enough to start investing in some new equipement. I currently shoot Nikon, and while I'll always hold a special place for it in my heart, I am going to give Canon a spin. My heart belongs to the 5d mark ii, but I plan on making that my reward once I really get to where I want to be. A present for my success. In the meantime, I need to really seriously start looking into other cameras. I've heard Canon has cheaper lenses, which is always a good thing!

I dont know if I ever mentioned here but in August, I'm planning on going to NC to visit my very good friend, more of a BFF actually, Valerie and her husband! They just moved there a few months ago and I am so excited to see them and hang out!! Valerie also wants to do a TTD(Trash The Dress) session while I'm there and I've been seriously dying to do one, so I am even more stoked! Speaking of traveling, I'd also really love to go to Seattle sometime this year. Maybe September or October, before the dreaded holidays hit.

So many of my friends are getting engaged/planning weddings/getting married this year. It is CRAZY!!! Its also pretty exciting, I am so very happy for all of them and wish them so much happiness <3 Despite the fact that I really don't forsee wedding bells in my future, ever, I LOVE weddings. I love all the little details. I love bringing different cultures together, I love the essence and the beauty and especially when couples are creative and original vs the more boring traditional approach. Thanks to this engagement epidimic, I get to spend hours scouring wedding sites online, while emailing back and forth with friends about different trends/ideas. So, just for fun, here are some random things Ive fallen in love with while looking through endless pages of wedding sites.

I adore this cake!!!

I really love mason jars, so when I saw this I fell in love!

ADORABLE wedding favors!! Totally my style.

My favorite color is teal/turqouise, so I've always imagined that being my wedding colors, paired with a shades of silver & white or greens. So I really loved this collage and the peacock spin!

Dessert/Sweet tables? Count me in!

I love DIY projects! The card box idea is really cute!

For the reception tables!

This is another really awesome idea for a dessert table!

These dresses are <3

Girl if you are coming to Seattle we HAVE to meet up. Btw, you totally will get married again. I just know it and I think the peacock theme is perfect for you.

Today was such a blast! It was a "sisters" day, which is sadly really rare these days with our schedules. My 2 younger sisters, my nephew, Stormie and I headed out to the outlets to do some shopping for the day! We had so much fun. It was so nice to get some really much needed quality time in with my sisters and nephew. I really hope we can do it more often from now on.

Of course, pictures :)

This is my adorable nephew, Israel aka Izzy, on the way to the outlets.

If you can't tell, Stormie LOVES shopping and dressing up! She was trying on every hat and scarf and accessory she could reach. Its so cute! And she has such great taste :) Im so proud!!

She ended up with these super cute sun glasses. She thinks shes a celebrity now when she wears them, so I did what I do best....I played papparrazzi! These are some of my favorite pictures ever of Stormie ever because they are so natural and unscripted and so HER.

A quick snap of my beautiful little sister!

Izzy took one look at these strollers and insisted he had to have one and in the end, it was a fantastic idea because the kiddies were strapped in and couldnt wreak as MUCH havok in the stores ;) They always find a way.... haha!

We stopped and had lunch at a delicious deli. I had the most amazing charbroiled chicken burger!!

He was pretty excited about his burger!

About every 2 feet they had those mechanical rides for 50 cents so we stopped at almost every single one so the kids could ride. EXHAUSTING!

Afterwards, I kidnapped Summer and used her as a model at some new locations I found while driving through town the other day. She is SO freaking beautiful and the best model ever. She loves the camera and knows how to work it, which is a dream for me! These are some of my favorite shots.

The weekends always seem to go by so fast, I hate it. On the other hand, it definitely makes me appreciate them that much more.

Saturday, I picked up my little sister Summer and she tagged along with Stormie and I to the park for a community easter egg hunt and had a bunch of arts and crafts and games and what not. Stormie had a BLAST!! Afterwards, we headed to the park so she could rollerskate and we had a little picnic with sandwhiches and salads from the local deli. My mom called and wanted to spend some time with us, so I picked her and went back to my house. We all hung out, played wii for a while and ordered pizza. It was so nice and chill!

I have been on a huge black and white kick lately. I have no idea why, I usually find them so boring, but I'm hooked! This is my step dads dog, Chewy. Hes the son of my dog Remy! I LOVE Chewy, he is seriously one of the best dogs ever. And oh so handsome :)

Sunday, we had a BBQ at Shaynes dads house for Maysons 2nd birthday. Mayson was in the grumpiest mood ever due to not napping at all, which totally sucked. She didnt want anything to do with anyone or thing, poor girl! She attatched herself to my side the entire day. It was a really beautiful day out and the party turned out fantastically well. We had a great turnout of friends and family and I am so thankful for all of them, as well as being able to co parent and enjoy doing things like that together with my ex. It means so much to me and really gives me positive hope for the future and being able to share those expriences together as parents and adults, without all the BS in the middle.
Heres a ton of pictures from the party :)

I can't believe how big Stormie's gotten! And I really love your hair in it's wavy stage. Co-Parenting is amazing. The ex & I are FINALLY on the same page after years and years of bs. It makes it so much easier and takes a ton of weight off the shoulders.
