Heartsong

Tell me about the dream where we pull the bodies out of the lake
and dress them in warm clothes again.
How it was late, and no one could sleep, the horses running
until they forget that they are horses.
It's not like a tree where the roots have to end somewhere,
it's more like a song on a policeman's radio,
how we rolled up the carpet so we could dance, and the days
were bright red, and every time we kissed there was another apple
to slice into pieces.
Look at the light through the windowpane. That means it's noon, that means
we're inconsolable.
Tell me how all this, and love too, will ruin us.
These, our bodies, possessed by light.
Tell me we'll never get used to it.

This weekend I went to Phoenix , AZ to visit my amazing friend Matt. I'm not even sure there are enough words to describe how lucky I am to have such an amazing person in my life, or what a wonderful weekend we had. I enjoyed every single second.

We stayed at this GORGEOUS hotel. Our room was amazingness. I totally want to make my room at home exactly like this hotel room. True story.

When I first walked into the room, I saw on the bed that Matt had bought me a rose(my favorite flower, aww), a sweet card AND a present. This GORGEOUS ring. His friend owns http://chadwickthejeweler.com/ and makes GORGEOUS  jewelry.  You totally must check it out!! It was the sweetest thing EVER. && I havent taken it off since.

Afterwards, we had dinner at this amazing restaurant called Postinos. I kind of want to move there just to eat there haha. True story. Then we hit up First Friday, which is basically this art walk in downtown Phoenix, it was SO rad. We walked through all these art galleries and they had live bands along the street, and went to the bar and had a couple drinks && amazing conversation. Matt && I seriously can talk FOREVER and never run out of things to say.  Sometimes, we dont even have to say anything at all and yet totally get what each other is saying. We'll just look at each other and burst out laughing because I know exactly what he's thinking and visa versa. It doesnt get better than that.

Saturday we woke up and grabbed some coffee and headed to this town, Jerome. Which is also where Maynard(from Tool,  A Perfect Circle && Puscifer ) has a winery. It was a 2 hour drive from where we were so we had a mini road trip. It was AWESOME. We seriously listened to music and sang  the entire way. Fact: Matt used to be in a band as a singer, this boy has the most amazing voice ever. So we talked and sang along to some amazing music(my choice, holllar! haha), it was the most cutest thing ever.  Its those small moments like that that I love && remember the most. Anyways, so the town is "haunted". AND AND it had SNOWED. This was the first time I had EVER seen snow. It was fucking freeeeeeezing, but so much fun. We totally played tourist and walked all along the town and went into all these cute little stores they had, and checked out all the attractions like the "Haunted Hotel" or the "haunted" abandoned bank. We threw snowballs at each other and had an amazing lunch where I had the best margarita and fish && chips ever.

This was the view from the restaurant we ate at. SO gorgeous, omggg.

I seriously adore this boy SO much, you just have no idea.

Um yes. He is THAT gorgeous. And look at his eyes, omggg. I am so lucky :)

Matt took this with his phone, this is the haunted hotel. It was rad.

After we left, we headed back to Phoenix and he stopped at this spot along the way with the most beautiful view to watch the sunset.

We got back to Phoenix and went back to the hotel and napped. YES, we are old people :) We woke up and went out to get some dinner. Little did we know that there was some HUGE college football thing going on in Phoenix this weekend, and it was CRAZY!! Crazy football fans EVERYWHERE haha The streets were PACKED, the restaurants were packed. We totally sat in PF Changs(where they had some sort of afterparty or something) and people watched and had amazing conversation for  hours. Went back to the hotel and watched tv and crashed.

Sunday, we woke up and grabbed some coffee at Starbucks at the sickest mall I've ever been too. It, too, was PACKED with football fanatics, everyone was dressed in team colors. I have never seen so much orange and green in my LIFE. We sat outside Starbucks and people watched(I LOVE the fact that hes a people watcher like me!!) for like an hour and just talked and giggled at all the crazy people. Went shopping at the mall, grabbed some lunch, did some more shopping and then it was time for me to go home :( I was seriously SO sad to leave. I LOVED it there and could so see myself living there, just the city, the people, everything about it I fell in love with.

Spending the weekend with Matt was  like being with my best friend. We had SO much fun, talked our heads off, had inside jokes. We finish each others sentences and totally know what each other is thinking without anything being said. I havent laughed that much in so long. He is honestly everything I've ever wanted in someone else. Everything was so comfortable and it felt so natural and right. Im just....cant believe how lucky I am. Really. I can absolutely, positively see myself falling in love with him, which is totally terrifying, yet theres just something so different && special with him. We just have this connection that I've never had with anyone else. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us, that is for sure. We already started talking about our next trip for the end of February/beginning of March and it cannot come soon enough!!

I am the happiest I've ever been in so long. I can't stop smiling and God I miss him already!
